Pollution in Residential Area Research: Stop Kunu Campaign

Have you ever noticed an unpleasant Odor lingering in the air around your home? Perhaps you’ve seen overflowing bins or even witnessed the burning of waste in your neighbourhood. This isn’t just an eyesore – it’s a symptom of a growing problem: pollution in Sri Lankan residential areas.

The “Stop Kunu” campaign delves into the heart of this critical issue, where “kunu” translates to “waste” in Sinhala. We’re on a mission to shed light on how pollution in residential areas impacts our lives in profound ways.

More Than Just an Inconvenience:

The consequences of pollution extend far beyond an unpleasant smell. It poses a serious threat to:

  • Health: Exposure to pollutants can lead to respiratory problems, skin irritation, and even waterborne illnesses. Children and the elderly are particularly vulnerable.
  • Mental Wellbeing: Living amidst constant pollution can cause stress, anxiety, and even depression.
  • Environment: Polluted air and water contaminate our precious resources, harming entire ecosystems. Wildlife suffers from habitat loss and exposure to toxins.

Your Voice Matters: Join the Stop Kunu Campaign !

We can’t address this issue alone. That’s why we’re inviting you to join the “Stop Kunu” campaign! By participating in our comprehensive survey, you’ll help us understand the true extent of the problem and the impact it has on Sri Lankan communities.

Together, we can:

  • Raise awareness: The more people understand the dangers of pollution, the more motivated we’ll be to find solutions.
  • Identify solutions: Your experiences and suggestions are invaluable. Through the survey, you’ll help us explore effective ways to manage waste and create a cleaner environment.
  • Empower communities: Knowledge is power! By working together, we can empower Sri Lankan communities to take action and advocate for a healthier future.
